Karen Broach Named President of Bright House Networks Birmingham Division

Syracuse, NY, July 2, 2007 – Bright House Networks today named Karen Broach president of the company’s Birmingham, Alabama Division.  Broach assumes the position July 11.

“We are very pleased to welcome Karen to the Bright House Networks family,” said Steve Miron, president of Advance/Newhouse Communications which manages the Bright House Networks operations.  “She is a businesswoman who understands the unique intricacies of our ever-involving industry.  We are extremely glad to have her on board.”

As president of the Birmingham Division, Broach will be responsible for full managerial oversight of the operation including strategic planning; budget development and accountability; financial analysis; audit compliance; regulatory compliance; human resources; and customer care activities.  The Division employs nearly 350 people in Alabama and the Florida panhandle.  In 2006, the Birmingham Division helped the company win two customer satisfaction honors – one for telephone service and the other for video service. 

Broach is a 24-year cable industry veteran who most recently served as vice president/general manager of Charter Communications’ Southern Wisconsin Division.  Prior to employment with Charter Communication, Broach's career marked significant accomplishments while at Time Warner and Fanch Communications.

Broach’s industry involvement includes participation in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania’s Cable and Television Associations as well as Cable in the Classroom.  Her community outreach includes board leadership positions with local industry councils, United Way and Ameriserve.  In 2004, she was recognized as one of the Top 50 Women In Business in the State of Pennsylvania.
