Community Involvement

Bright House Networks is proud to support community projects and organizations that work to enhance the quality of life for our customers, employees and friends. Many of the employees at Bright House Networks are long-term residents with a sense of civic pride.

So it's only natural we would want to contribute to the well-being of the whole community. Our support takes several forms -- we provide employee volunteers and we place public service announcements on many of our channels.

Volunteerism

Many Bright House Networks employees volunteer for worthwhile causes. Employees generously donate their time by working with many organizations including:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
  • Junior Achievement
  • United Way
  • Magic City Harvest Festival
  • Do-Dah-Day
  • Birmingham Urban League
  • Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival
  • United Cerebral Palsy
  • Birmingham Civil Rights Institute
  • Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of America
  • Adopt-A-School
  • Operation New Birmingham

Each year employees also participate in the local Reading Is Fun program. Bright House Networks employees visit local schools that have been adopted by our division to read to children.

Contributions

Volunteer effort is just one kind of contribution Bright House Networks makes to the community. In addition to the personal attention our employees give to community issues, Bright House Networks also assists nonprofit organizations by airing public service announcements on our cable system. This generous contribution allows nonprofit groups to publicize special events, recruit volunteers and increase awareness of their work in the community.
